I made for my eldest daughter 20th Birthday (2011) |
Base:
130 gm Oreos without the cream
70 gm butter, melted
Filling:
60 ml water
1 tbsp gelatine
380 gm cream cheese ( i used Philadelphia )
125 ml milk
1/2 cup castor sugar
60 gm each of white chocolate, dark chocolate and milk chocolate, all melted separately in individual bowl.
250 ml of cream, whipped
8" inch cake tin with removable bottom, greased
Method:
Crush the biscuits in a medium bowl until fine. Add melted butter and mix till evenly mixed. Press into the base of the cake pan to an even layer. Refrigerate 30 minutes until firm while you make the filling.
1. Place the 60ml water into a small bowl and sprinkle gelatin over. Place the bowl in a pan of boiling water. Stir a little and let stand. The gelatin will dissolve.
2. Beat Cream Cheese in a mixer till soft. Add sugar and beat again , add milk and beat. Divide mixture equally between 3 bowls.
3. Fold white melted choc into a bowl of cream cheese mixture n mix untill smooth. Fold milk choc into another bowl and mix as well. Add dark choc to the last and mix well.
4. Divide the gelatin into 3 and each portion to each of the cream cheese mixtures. Mix well. Then divide the whipped cream into 3 portions and add each to each of the cream cheese mixture. Mix well.
5. Pour the white choc cream cheese mix over the oreo cookies base and spread evenly. Let it firm up a little while in the refrigerator ( 15 to 20 mins ) then pour over the milk choc mix, spread evenly and let firm as well and finally then pour over the dark choc mix and spread evenly and let chill overnight or a few hours till set.
6. Remove the cake pan carefully by loosening the sides with thin pallette knife, decorate with clouds of whiiped cream if you like.
